TIL the mechanics of making top-down shooters. Although some aspects were the same as the rail shooter, such as the health bar and the gun mechanics, some things were much more complex. For example, the top-down shooter necessitated writing scripts for enemy AI, as well as making sprite rotation mechanics. in general, the top down shooter seems to be much harder to create, considering it takes a lot more effort to make the game even remotely playable.
